Affiliate terms
Plain-English rules for inviting people to Buzzlist and being rewarded for it. By saving a payout choice you agree to them.
1. The offer
When someone joins Buzzlist through your personal link, they receive 100 bonus contacts. When they start using Buzzlist (they reveal 10 contacts within 30 days of joining) you receive 100 contacts. If they become a paying customer, you earn 20% of their subscription payments for 12 months, starting from their first payment.
2. Limits on contact rewards
Bonus contacts, for you and for your friend, are added to the current month’s balance and reset with the monthly allowance, so they must be used in the month they are received. You receive contacts for up to 50 friends, and all Buzzlist rewards together (invites, follows, opt-ins and reviews) give at most 1,000 bonus contacts per account. Once either limit is reached, a friend who starts using Buzzlist earns you no more contacts. Cash commission has no cap.
3. What counts
Commission is calculated on subscription payments we actually receive, after refunds and excluding taxes. One-off credit purchases do not earn commission. A payment that is refunded or charged back earns nothing; if we already paid you for it, the amount is deducted from your next payment.
4. When you are paid
Each commission is held for 30 days, then becomes payable. You can take it as money off your own Buzzlist bill, with no minimum, if you are on a paid plan, or as cash to your bank account once your payable balance reaches $50. Today both are handled by hand by the Buzzlist team: we apply bill credit to your next invoice, and for cash we email you to arrange the payment and any identity, bank or tax details we need. Automatic bank payouts are not switched on yet.
5. Tell people you are rewarded
Whenever you share your link, say clearly that you earn a reward if people join, in the same post, email or message. This is required by advertising rules in the United States and many other countries. The messages Buzzlist writes for you already include it.
6. What is not allowed
Referring yourself or an account you control. Spam, including bulk unsolicited email, texts or direct messages. Paid ads that bid on the Buzzlist name or use it in the ad. Coupon, cashback or incentive sites without our written approval. False or exaggerated claims about Buzzlist. Pretending to be Buzzlist or one of its employees.
7. Fraud and abuse
We review referrals. Sign-ups that look like the same person opening several accounts are held and earn nothing until a person at Buzzlist approves them. We may withhold or reverse rewards, and close an affiliate account, where we find fraud or a breach of these terms.
8. Taxes
You are responsible for any tax on what you earn. We may need a tax form from you before we can pay cash, and we may report payments to tax authorities where the law requires it.
9. Changes
We may change or end the program. Commissions already earned on payments already received stay yours under the terms that applied when they were earned.
10. Relationship
You are an independent promoter, not an employee, agent or partner of Buzzlist, and you cannot make commitments on our behalf.
